Heat recovery
CHP
To maximise efficiency on CHP projects, as much heat as possible needs to be extracted from the prime mover. van Spall Associates are able to supply high efficiency heat exchangers for use on diesel and gas engine exhausts. The patented heat pipe technology is used to transfer the heat from the diesel or gas exhaust to circulating hot water for many applications such as, absorption chillers, swimming pool heating, LPHW systems, boiler pre-heat etc
Process Applications
Typical applications would be aluminium furnaces, ceramic/brick kilns, high temperature gas ovens and large boiler installations such as those found in hospitals or universities. Recovered heat can be used to produce high temperature water/steam for heating or other processes. Specialist applications include oil pre-heating and heat to drive electrical generation turbines. These high efficiency exchangers can typically give pay backs of less than 12 months
